Trent N. Tappe is Senior Vice President and Chief Corporate Governance and Securities Counsel at Warner Music Group Corp.  Mr. Tappe provides SEC, corporate governance and Sarbanes-Oxley, as well as strategic and compliance-oriented advice to the board of directors and senior management on a wide variety of issues. He is also responsible for securities offerings and worked on WMG's initial public offering, debt offerings and recent take private transaction. Prior to joining WMG, Mr. Tappe was an Associate in the Capital Markets group of the law firm of Shearman & Sterling LLP in New York, where he focused on representation of issuers and underwriters in securities offerings, including initial public offerings and offerings of common and preferred stock, convertible securities and high yield and investment grade debt.  He also represented corporate clients in a wide variety of corporate transactions, including spin-offs, split-offs, tender offers, exchange offers and consent solicitations, and on routine reporting, disclosure issues and corporate governance.  Mr. Tappe is also a non-practicing certified public accountant and prior to practicing law worked as an auditor at Coopers & Lybrand (now part of PricewaterhouseCoopers) in Detroit. 

Mr. Tappe holds a Master of Accounting and B.B.A. from the University of Michigan School of Business Administration and a J.D. from Columbia Law School.
