Tracy Paler is the Chief Law Librarian for the New York City Law Department, where, she is responsible for providing in depth legal research assistance and training to over 1400 lawyers and professionals, across five boroughs. Prior to the Law Department, she was the Deputy Director of Library and Research Services at the Council on Foreign Relations, the Electronics Services Manager at the law firm Fried, Frank, Harris Shriver & Jacobson LLP, and also an associate at the Washington, DC office of Fried Frank. Ms. Paler received her Bachelor’s degree from Binghamton University, her J.D. from Columbia School of Law, and her Masters in Library and Information Science from Rutgers University.  She is an active member of the Law Library Association of Greater New York, where she has held volunteer and board positions, and the American Association of Law Libraries, where she is a member of the Standing Committee on Law Library Services to Prisoners, as well as the Committee on Pro Bono Initiatives.
