Melanie L. Fein represents clients on a wide range of matters arising under federal and state banking, securities, and other laws. She has served as senior counsel to the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System and been a partner in two national law firms. She now maintains her own law practice. Ms. Fein is the author of the leading treatises on Federal Bank Holding Company Law and Securities Activities of Banks, among other books and publications. Ms. Fein is a past chair of the Executive Council of the Federal Bar Association’s Banking Law Committee and has held other leadership roles on committees of the American Bar Association. She has taught banking and financial regulation courses at Yale Law School, Boston University Law School, and Catholic University’s Columbus School of Law, and served on advisory boards for the Practising Law Institute, Consumer Bankers Association, Banking and Financial Services Policy Report, Stanford Journal of Law, Business & Finance, and other organizations and publications.
