Samidh Guha focuses his practice on white-collar criminal defense, regulatory enforcement actions, corporate investigations, securities litigation, complex commercial and employment litigation, international arbitration, and bankruptcy litigation at Jones Day LLP.

Samidh has served as lead and co-lead counsel in criminal and civil trials, has briefed and argued several appeals before the Second Circuit, and has considerable experience in conducting internal investigations and in pretrial litigation and motion practice. He served as an assistant U.S. attorney for four years during which time he successfully prosecuted cases involving public corruption, obstruction of justice, racketeering, firearms, and narcotics charges, including the public corruption case involving a New York State senator and others. During his tenure with the Department of Justice, he conducted 13 federal criminal jury trials.

In private practice, Samidh has represented institutional and individual clients in government and regulatory investigations, prosecutions, enforcement actions, and related civil litigations. He has represented a variety of financial institutions, including financial services corporations, private equity firms, and hedge funds. Prior to joining Jones Day in 2014, Samidh also won an arbitration victory on behalf of a major international oil producer in a multimillion dollar contractual dispute (AAA arbitration) and secured dismissal on summary judgment on behalf of a major publicly traded retail company responding to state law class action litigation regarding its tipping policy.

Samidh has spoken on numerous panels regarding white-collar defense, insider trading, and corporate investigations. He serves on the boards of directors of the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease and the South Asian Youth Action! and on the executive steering committee of the South Asian Bar Association of New York.
