Ron Hauben is Deputy General Counsel of Ernst & Young LLP, a member firm of Ernst & Young Global Limited. EY is one of the largest global professional services firms; its more than 140,000 people worldwide provide a wide range of assurance, tax, transactional and advisory services.

Mr. Hauben has a broad-based legal practice focused on effective risk management at EY. In addition to overseeing the defense of litigation against the firm and its professionals, Mr. Hauben provides legal counsel on a regular basis to EY's professionals and leadership on professional practice related issues. He also represents the firm and its professionals in responding to regulatory inquiries and investigations.

Mr. Hauben joined EY in 2003. Earlier in his career, Mr. Hauben was a senior lawyer in the General Counsel's Office of PwC and its predecessor firm, Price Waterhouse. In addition to his professional practice-related work, he served as chief corporate counsel in the global merger of Price Waterhouse and Coopers & Lybrand, and in the spinoff of PwC's consulting businesses. Mr. Hauben served as Global General Counsel and Executive Vice President of PwC Consulting prior to its 2002 sale to IBM Corporation.

Mr. Hauben speaks regularly at continuing education programs on issues affecting the accounting profession. He is a 1981 graduate of New York University's School of Law; and received his Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from Binghamton University in 1978.
