Rob Evans is Deputy Director (Legal and Regulatory Policy) in the SEC’s Division of Corporation Finance.  The Division’s legal and regulatory policy function supports its disclosure operations function and includes offices responsible for rulemaking and policy matters.  Mr. Evans also works closely with the Division Director and Deputy Director (Disclosure Operations) in strategic planning for the Division.

Mr. Evans has extensive experience advising on public and private offerings, securities law compliance and corporate governance.  Before serving at the Commission, he worked at Shearman & Sterling LLP as a partner in the firm’s capital markets practice.  Mr. Evans also was a member of the TriBar Opinion Committee, the Working Group on Legal Opinions, the American Law Institute, and Co-Chair of Shearman & Sterling’s Opinion Committee.
