Meredith, NH, USA

Richard Gerken is Principal of Wingate Enterprises Consulting in Meredith, New Hempshire with over twenty-five years experience in the equipment leasing industry. For a majority of this time he was Vice President and Associate General Counsel of Comdisco, Inc., a Chicago-based technology services company. He currently is an adjunct professor of Business Law in the M.B.A. program at Plymouth State University. He has conducted seminars on the Principles of Leasing for the Equipment Leasing Association of America and has lectured on equipment leasing at The John Marshall Law School, IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law, the ELA Legal Forum, and before the Chicago Bar Association. He has served on various committees and subcommittees of the ELA and American Bar Association, Business Law Section. In 1997, he was Chairman of the Legal Committee of the ELA. Mr. Gerken is a graduate of Cornell University and received his J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law. He is a member of the Connecticut and Illinois bars. Mr. Gerken would like to extend thanks to his friends at Comdisco and ELA for their assistance with this chapter.
