Nick Phillips is the Acting Managing Attorney of the Immigration Unit at Prisoners’ Legal Services of New York, which provides free legal representation to New York State prisoners in removal proceedings at the Bedford Hills, Downstate, and Ulster Immigration Courts.  After graduating from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 2014, Nick served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Frederic Block of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. Before joining PLS, he worked as an Immigrant Justice Corps Fellow at Pace Community Law Practice in White Plains, NY, where he provided free legal representation to prisoners at the Downstate Immigration Court, and to unaccompanied children in removal proceedings in New York City Immigration Court.
