Michael is the Founder & Managing Principal of Soryn IP Group – a patent advisory and finance firm that creates, manages, monetizes and finances the IP of clients ranging from start-ups, to university technology transfer offices to billion dollar corporations. Soryn’s core business includes managing the patent operations of companies, advising institutions on patent monetization issues, selling portfolios on behalf of technology giants and financing operating entities facing the staggering costs of patent monetization.

Michael has been repeatedly named to the list of Top IP Strategists in the World by Intellectual Asset Management, and prior to founding Soryn, Michael was a partner in the patent litigation group at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where he represented companies of all sizes, in their patent matters.

Michael holds an undergraduate degree in Neuroscience from Columbia University and a law degree from the Seton Hall University School of Law, where he served as an editor of the Law Review. Michael is also regularly asked to speak and publish on the latest patent developments. His most recent articles have appeared in Forbes, TechCrunch, Intellectual Asset Management and IP Watchdog.
