Assistant General Counsel, International Privacy & Human Rights
Coral Gables, FL, USA

Laura Juanes serves as AGC, International Privacy & Human Rights, in Yahoo’s Public Policy Group. She is specialized in online privacy matters for the company’s international properties. She is also responsible for Yahoo’s Business and Human Rights Program.

Before joining the Public Policy function, Laura (a Spanish qualified lawyer) has held different positions within Yahoo’s legal function, both in Yahoo Spain (as a General Counsel) and in the Americas (as a Legal Compliance Director), where she has dealt with a wide range of matters related to the online space, such as e-commerce, liability of intermediaries, intellectual property, advertising, mobile law enforcement, and of course, privacy and data protection.

Prior to joining Yahoo, Ms. Juanes began her legal practice with the legal services of the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, where she graduated.
