L. Charles Landgraf

Charles Landgraf chairs the Legislative and Public Policy Practice Group for the global law firm Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP, and he is also a member of the Firm's Executive Committee.

In addition to leadership for the legislative practice group, Mr. Landgraf personally represents a variety of clients in the insurance, energy and real estate industries before Congress and the Administration.

On behalf of clients, he has been closely involved in the development of, among other bills, the Oil Pollution Act of 1990, the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act of 2002 (and the 2005 and 2007 renewal), and, more recently, key provisions of the Dodd-Frank Act and the Comprehensive Iran Sanctions Accountability and Divestment Act of 2010.

Mr. Landgraf has formed onshore and offshore captives and assisted clients in devising innovative public policy solutions to company-specific and industry-wide problems. Mr. Landgraf assisted in drafting the 1993 Russian insurance law, and advised the China Insurance Regulatory Commission earlier this decade. His team also manages trademark and other intellectual property litigation in numerous countries for a major Washington DC-based trade association. Mr. Landgraf, who was the managing partner of LeBoeuf Lamb's London office, has a working knowledge of the Russian and Thai languages.
