Jay Posklensky
US Auditing Methodology

Jay is a director in PwC's US Auditing Methodology group focusing on IT and controls. He has over twenty years of auditing and consulting experience. Previous roles have included overseeing the content and tools for the global firm's IT audit and consulting practice, and a top performing client service director supporting internal and external audits.

Jay's recent methodology experience includes:

  • Director on team updating PwC’s guidance for the 2013 COSO Framework
  • Led team that developed PwC's global ISAE 3402 guidance
  • Lead director of global team that developed firm's business process risk and control libraries
  • Director in charge of developing the firm's global technical platform, and ERP auditing guidance and assessment tools
  • Instructor of several controls and audit methodology classes

Jay's client experience includes:

  • Lead director of IT Internal Audit co-sourcing arrangements. Projects covered Sarbanes-Oxley 404 testing, general IT controls and specialized IT risks
  • Lead director on IT external audits for several fortune 100 companies
  • Lead director on a number of consulting engagements ranging from post-implementation controls reviews, to software development methodology assessments, to Sarbanes-Oxley 404 compliance


  • Project lead director for the new COSO publication, "Illustrative Tools for Assessing Effectiveness of a System of Internal Control" and a core member of the team that authored COSO's, "Internal Control - Integrated Framework: 2013" and, "Internal Control Over External Financial Reporting: A Compendium of Approaches and Examples"
  • Co-author of PwC's 1st to market monograph, “Sarbanes-Oxley Act: Section 404 -- Practical Guidance for Management”, July 2004

Jay holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University and an MBA in Finance from New York University's Stern School of Management.
