James Veverka is a Vice President and Assistant General Counsel in the Derivatives Practice Group within the Legal Department at JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A.  He works primarily on credit derivatives matters and has participated in working groups focused on the 2014 ISDA Credit Derivatives Definitions, on documentation updates following the Big Bang and Small Bang Protocols and on dealer disclosures for credit and total return swaps under the external business conduct rules promulgated pursuant to the Dodd-Frank Act.  He routinely participates in the Americas Determinations Committee and its legal subcommittee on behalf of JPMorgan.  In addition to derivatives matters, Mr. Veverka also works on regulatory and central counterparty clearing issues.

Prior to joining JPMorgan, Mr. Veverka was an associate in the Banking and Finance Group at Jones Day, where he worked on traditional lending and structured finance in the context of transactions and litigation.

Mr. Veverka earned his JD from Georgetown University.  He is a member of the New York State Bar.
