Jaap de Keijzer

Jaap de Keijzer specializes in competition law, state aid and regulation with a particular focus on the regulated industries (financial services, energy, telecom, transport).

Jaap holds an M.Sc. in Geology, and worked in the upstream oil & gas sector before joining De Brauw.  He represents major incumbent electricity, oil, gas and network companies and various leading European utilities during the ongoing liberalisation, privatisation and consolidation in this sector in Europe, and as a consequence regularly works with other international firms in cross-border matters.

Jaap has twenty years’ experience in mergers & acquisitions and corporate finance. From 2001 – 2006  he was Managing Partner of the firm. From 2006 – 2009 he was also General Secretary of the Dutch Association of Listed Companies (VEUO).

From 2009 Jaap was a member of the Executive Board of the Netherlands Competition Authority (NMa). He returned in 2011 to De Brauw as the Resident Partner of the Brussels office.
