Eleanor M. Lackman is a partner in the New York office of Cowan, DeBaets, Abrahams & Sheppard LLP, where she specializes in litigation, counseling, and licensing matters primarily in the copyright and trademark fields. Her wide-ranging client base includes start-up companies and some of the most well-recognized names in media, entertainment, e-commerce, fashion, sports, technology, and consumer products industries.

Eleanor graduated from Fordham University School of Law in 2003. Prior to joining CDAS in 2011, she was associated with Hogan Lovells, Arnold & Porter, and Loeb & Loeb. She is admitted to practice in New York and California, as well as in numerous federal courts around the country.

Eleanor has been recognized by Super Lawyers as one of the top 50 women lawyers in the New York Metro area. She has been repeatedly named by Chambers USA as a leading lawyer in trademark and copyright law, has been selected for Variety magazine’s “Legal Impact Report,” and was twice recognized among five or fewer “Rising Stars” in media and entertainment law by Law360, among other accolades. Eleanor serves as a member of INTA’s Amicus Committee and co-National Chapters Coordinator with the Copyright Society of the USA. She also sits on the Board of Advisors to the Fordham Center on Law and Information Policy.
