Deborah Thrope is a Staff Attorney at the National Housing Law Project (NHLP), a housing and legal advocacy center. As a national expert on the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher and Public Housing programs, she collaborates with policy leaders to develop strategies for maximizing voucher utilization and for housing the most vulnerable populations including chronically homeless adults, people with disabilities, and formerly incarcerated individuals. Ms. Thrope served as Editor in Chief of the 2014 and 2016 Supplements to NHLP's seminal publication, HUD Housing Programs: Tenants Rights. Before she joined NHLP, Ms. Thrope was an attorney at the Law Foundation of Silicon Valley where she provided legal services to clients with disabilities facing eviction and subsidy termination.
