UNILEVER CAREER:

David's current responsibilities at Unilever fall into three main categories: (1) ongoing commercial matters such as supply, distribution, transportation, e-commerce, licensing, consulting, leasing, broker, dealer, franchise and other agreements as well as general strategic advice, (2) transactional matters such as mergers, acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures, strategic investments, partnerships, new ventures and the like and (3) corporate secretary and treasury matters such as public and private financings, SEC filings and related compliance, Code of Conduct compliance, tax related legal structuring, stock option and stock purchase plans, structure and maintenance of US subsidiaries, insurance, hedging and other below the line corporate issues.

Key transactions he has led include the acquisitions of Alberto-Culver Company for $3.7 billion and the TIGI hair brand for $411.5 million as well the divestitures of Unilever’s NA laundry business (all, Snuggle and Wisk) for $1.4 billion and Bertolli and Ragu pasta sauce for $2.1 billion.

PRIOR CAREER:

David joined Unilever as Associate General Counsel - Corporate and Transactions in January 2002. Prior to that David was General Counsel, Executive Vice President and Secretary of Interiors, Inc., a publicly traded designer, manufacturer and distributor of decorative accessories.

David previously practiced law at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP and Hughes Hubbard & Reed, LLP where he developed specialties in merger and acquisitions, securities law and complex corporate transactions.

EDUCATION:

David received his undergraduate degree from Binghamton University - SUNY, where he majored in Psychology and minored in Economics. He received his law degree from Boston University School of Law.
