Cindy Lo is a Partner in our Beijing office. Cindy worked in Allen & Overy's Hong Kong and Shanghai offices before relocating to Beijing. Cindy has broad experience in a broad range of finance transactions, including bonds, acquisition finance, project finance, corporate lending and pre-IPO financing. She has in-depth knowledge of PRC regulatory requirements, and regularly advises clients on RMB products and repatriation issues. Cindy is qualified in Hong Kong and speaks English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

Her recent experience includes advising: 
  • Baosteel on its CNY3.6bn inaugural offshore Renminbi (RMB) bond issuance. It was the first mainland company to issue offshore RMB bonds.
  • A multinational company on the proposed issuance of RMB bonds in the China interbank bond market under a pilot scheme.
  • The investors on the restructuring of its debt and issuance of convertible bonds issued by Glorious Property Holdings Limited, before its initial public offering.
  • China Development Bank Corporation Hong Kong branch, as mandated lead arranger, on a senior debt facility of USD1bn to Alibaba Group Holding Limited, , for the initial repurchase of shares from Yahoo!, for approximately USD7.1bn, which represented one-half of Yahoo!'s 40% stake in Alibaba Group.
  • The Export-Import Bank of China on a USD2.5bn project financing for the construction and development of a resort project in the Bahamas. This deal won "Real Estate & Construction Deal of the Year", awarded by China Law & Practice Awards 2012.
