Bryan Wilson is a trial lawyer with expertise in handling a wide range of intellectual property matters in a variety of venues. His recent matters include trade secrets and patent cases in both state and federal courts. Mr. Wilson also is active in pre-litigation counseling for clients hoping to avoid litigation, as well as clients who want to be as prepared as possible for litigation that may be inevitable.

Mr. Wilson's jury trials include Soitec, Inc. v. Silicon Genesis Corporation (invalidating patents asserted against client Silicon Genesis Corporation), Applied Biosystems, Inc. v. Illumina, Inc. (finding non-infringement and invalidating patents asserted against client Applied Biosystems), and Hansen Medical, Inc. v. Luna, Inc. ($36 million trade secret and breach-of-contract verdict in favor of client Hansen Medical).

Patent cases that were settled before trial include defending semiconductor equipment manufacturer AST Elektronik, Inc. in cases involving rapid thermal processing equipment and sputtering technology, Ecolab, Inc. in cases involving food processing technologies, and videoconferencing infrastructure developer Codian, Inc. in a case brought by Polycom, Inc.

Mr. Wilson also has extensive experience in arbitration proceedings with JAMS/Endispute, the American Arbitration Association, and private arbitration proceedings, including the arbitration of business disputes and trade secret matters.

He has written on a variety of topics including protective orders, recent court decisions involving trade secrets law, and aspects of the attorney-client privilege.

Before entering law school, Mr. Wilson worked for the Save San Francisco Bay Association and the United States Environmental Protection Agency. For the past several years, Mr. Wilson has served as a judge pro tem and arbitrator for the Santa Clara County Superior Court.
