Brian O’Keefe is a Deputy Director at the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Brian heads the Product Review branch in the CFTC’s Division of Clearing and Risk, which is responsible for the establishment, implementation and monitoring of  mandatory clearing determinations. Prior to joining the CFTC in 2010, Brian spent nine years at Standard & Poor’s, where he was a Managing Director working with credit derivatives. Before that, Brian was with the law firms of Jones Day and Clifford Chance. He also spent time at Ernst & Young, working as a consultant on international cash management projects dealing with payment and settlement issues. He received his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, graduating magna cum laude, and his Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude from Georgetown University.
