Brian Knudson

Brian is a partner in the partnership and joint venture group of Ernst & Young’s national tax department and has more than 20 years of experience in assisting clients in all matters related to the taxation of partnerships. Brian works extensively with large and complicated joint venture structures, often involving large multi-national corporate clients. He has also worked extensively with private equity, real estate and hedge funds, as well as publicly traded partnerships and Up-C structures.

Brian is a graduate of the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. He has presented at various tax conferences and authored numerous articles on partnership tax matters. Brian is also a member of the Partnership Tax Committee of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and is an adjunct professor in the masters in taxation program at the Curtis L. Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota where he teaches a course on the taxation of partnerships.
