Brian Victor is the primary legal partner advising SoFi on its capital markets and finance transactions. Brian supports SoFi’s (i) mortgage, personal loan and student loan securitizations, and (ii) repo’s, warehouse credit facilities, and whole loan sales. He also supports Sofi’s private equity/hedge fund creation, wealth management products and broker-dealer activities. 

SoFi was founded in 2011 and is a leading online personal lending and wealth management company based in San Francisco. SoFi was named one of the ten top startup companies by CNBC in 2012. SoFi focuses primarily on early stage professionals and has originated more than $18 billion in loans, including approximately $12 billion in student loan refinance loans to early career professionals and more than $5 billion in personal loans. 

Prior to joining SoFi, Brian served as Senior Vice President and Associate General Counsel at Bank of America, N.A., where he interfaced with Attorney General’s Offices across the country on issues related to the Bank’s loan portfolio, worked on a wide variety of mortgage regulatory and compliance issues, and managed external exams and audits with federal and state regulators. Prior to Bank of America, Brian spent 16 years in private practice, most recently as a Structured Finance partner at McKee Nelson LLP and Winston & Strawn LLP, and prior to that, as an associate at Skadden Arps. In private practice, Brian focused on a wide variety of structured finance transactions, including RMBS, CMBS, credit card programs, CDO’s CLO’s, MSR and whole loan sales, warehouse facilities and servicer advance securitizations. 

Brian received his JD from Rutgers School of Law, where he was a member of the Rutgers Law Review, and he received a B.A. in Economics from Rutgers University.
