Alice Hrdy serves as the Deputy Assistant Director in the CFPB's Office of Supervision Policy. In September 2010, she joined the Treasury Department's CFPB implementation team and assisted in the launch of the Bureau's nonbank supervision program. Alice currently supervises the supervision program in the consumer reporting and collection markets.  She also oversees the rulemakings to extend the CFPB's supervisory authority over certain nonbank markets. 

Before coming to the CFPB, she served for 16 years at the Federal Trade Commission in several positions, including as an Assistant Director in the Division of Financial Practices, as an attorney advisor to the Chairman and the Bureau Director, and as a litigation attorney.

She obtained her law degree from Georgetown University Law Center where she served as an editor of the Georgetown Journal of Legal Ethics and graduated summa cum laude from Ohio University's Honors Tutorial College with a degree in history.

A native of Ohio, she and her husband live with their three children in Washington, D.C.
