Why You Should Attend

International estate and tax planning is a specialized practice area that requires unique expertise including a strong grasp of international treaties and an in-depth understanding of specific sections of U.S. Internal Revenue Code. Program Chairs Andrew Auchincloss and Beth Tractenberg designed this specialized Webcast to support practitioners in developing successful estate and tax planning strategies for high-net worth clients with international interests. 

What You Will Learn

After completing this program, participants will be able to:

• Learn planning strategies for foreign non-grantor trusts (FNGTs)  

• Review compliance and reporting requirements in connection with FNGTs

• Understand the income tax deduction rules applicable to gifts to foreign charities, including §170 and §642 (c)

• Analyze the differences between estate tax deductions and gift tax deductions for transfers to foreign charities   

• Know the rules applicable to transfers by domestic charities to foreign charities

Advisors to high-net worth clients subject to cross-border tax regulations including U.S. based individuals, families, and partnerships with property interests abroad, and/or U.S. taxpayers living abroad and subject to foreign tax.
