Overview

Organizations often seek to support and advance their compliance culture through leadership directives, the implementation of new policies, or the advice of outside experts. However, such change rarely happens from the top down or from the outside. The most effective way to build and sustain a culture of compliance is by leveraging existing networks and finding those within the organization who will champion ideas, programs, policies, and directives at the local level—in time, spreading them throughout the organization. A change in culture isn't achieved by a mandate, but through a movement.

Matt Silverman, founder and CEO of The Blueprint Organization, offers a step-by-step guide for companies looking to build their own champions networks. Attendees will learn how to leverage their current employee base through a 6-step blueprint, including: (1) obtaining leadership buy-in, (2) developing a network structure, (3) recruiting champions, (4) training champions, (5) implementing the network, and (6) developing metrics. Through storytelling, psychology, and practical guidance, this session will demonstrate the value of a champions network in building an ethical and compliant culture.

Attendees will learn:

  • The academic research and psychology supporting the champions network model (20 minutes)
  • A 6-step blueprint to build an effective and sustainable champions network (30 minutes)
  • Examples and case studies of real-world compliance champions networks (10 minutes)
