This program offers 3.25 New York State Social Work CPE credits for licensed master social workers (LMSWs) and licensed clinical social workers (LCSWs). Please email a request to PLICredits@pli.edu if you would like Social Work CPE for this program.
Full scholarships, registration fee waivers, and discounts are widely available to attorneys and staff working for nonprofit/legal services organizations; pro bono attorneys/volunteers (providing no-fee legal assistance to clients individually or through an organization); government attorneys; judges and judicial law clerks; law professors and law students; senior attorneys (age 65 and over); unemployed attorneys; and others with financial hardships. All qualified individuals are encouraged to apply.
Why Should You Attend
Attorneys and other advocates who represent children in immigration matters will learn about recent developments in law and policy with regard to important protections available to immigrant children, including Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) and asylum. Experienced faculty will examine problem-solving strategies for addressing common issues that arise in children’s cases.
