Overview

Why You Should Attend:

IP Discussions with Joshua Simmons is a series of conversations hosted by nationally recognized intellectual property litigator, Joshua Simmons. Each month, Josh is joined by a panel of IP luminaries, leading scholars, and industry insiders. Together, they examine major topics and events in a civil, roundtable format.

Every day, attorneys prosecute applications to register copyrights and trademarks and to seek the grant of patents. In addition to the ethics rules that govern their activities as attorneys, they and other individuals prosecuting IP rights may be subject to additional rules, such as the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office’s Rules of Professional Conduct.

What You Will Learn:

After completing this program, viewers will be able to address:

  • What rules of professional conduct apply to IP prosecution?
  • How IP agencies are taking steps to prevent unethical prosecution practices?
  • When an ethical issue arises, what can you do to remedy the misstep?

Who Should Attend:

IP lawyers and practitioners advising clients on trademark and patent prosecution issues should find this program to be informative.
