Overview

Health care was the third most active sector, measured by deal volume, in global M&A in 2017. Over 1,500 health care sector deals were announced in 2017, with a total deal value of over $300 billion (an increase of more than 18% over the previous year), despite – or perhaps spurred by – the changing regulatory landscape. This One-Hour Briefing will highlight three trends driving health care M&A in 2018.

Expert faculty will discuss:

  • How regulatory reform is likely to affect M&A in the health care sector
  • Private equity investment in the health care industry
  • Recent trends that could reshape the industry: convergence and consumerism

The speakers are Andrew L. Bab and Paul D. Rubin, partners at Debevoise & Plimpton LLP. Andrew is the co-editor of PLI’s Health Care Mergers and Acquisitions Answer Book, and Paul is a contributor to the book
