Overview

Why You Should Attend

Cyberattacks and cyber-enabled fraud schemes against the financial services industry have soared over the past few years, and the costs resulting from these crimes have skyrocketed.  The cyber threat landscape also has been rapidly changing due to new geopolitical factors, COVID-19, and emerging tactics and technologies.  In one of the most heavily regulated industries, it was only a matter of time before regulators took action to enhance cyber vigilance within the financial services sector.  The OCC, FRB, FDIC, FTC, and SEC have all issued new cyber regulations within this past year.  The changing threat landscape and growing security requirements have fundamentally changed cyber risk management within the financial services sector and increased litigation and regulatory enforcement concerns, while cyber insurance costs have skyrocketed.  With the recent expansion of cryptocurrency firms and increased federal regulatory activity within the banking sector, cybersecurity concerns have only increased further.

What You Will Learn

Upon completing this program, participants will take away an understanding (from current and former financial industry CISOs as well as former cyber prosecutors) of the current cyber threat landscape and how financial services companies and financial institutions can mitigate the resulting risks.  Participants will learn (from the former Superintendent of the New York Department of Financial Services as well as in-house counsel at major banks) how to align their cybersecurity programs with federal and state cyber regulations and rising industry standards.  Finally, attendees will learn (from leading plaintiffs and defense counsel as well as former regulators) how to prepare for regulatory investigations, enforcement actions and class action litigation often associated with cybersecurity incidents, including securing responsive insurance.
