Overview

In the last year, we have seen increased regulatory enforcement issues relating to the emergence of decentralized finance (DeFi), specifically in the wake of the recent crackdown from the DOJ, SEC and CFTC on centralized crypto exchanges.

During the session, faculty will discuss the leading regulatory issues related to the emergence of DeFi, including what has happened and what is coming down the pike in terms of regulation and enforcement.

The Briefing will focus on the following topics, among others:

  • The current DeFi ecosystem (10 minutes)
  • How U.S. regulations map onto DeFi (10 minutes)
  • U.S. regulatory enforcement trends in the DeFi space (20 minutes)
  • The impact of recent U.S. enforcement actions on the DeFi ecosystem (20 minutes)
