Overview

Why You Should Attend

As the private funds industry continues to evolve, fund managers are finding new and creative ways to create additional liquidity and sources of capital, often through mechanisms such as continuation funds, GP-led secondaries, recapitalizations, etc. Designed to provide an advanced analysis of the private funds industry, this program will highlight the predominant and relevant issues facing private funds lawyers and how to handle them.

New this year is the Gender, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (GEDI) and ESG in Private Funds segment. As a result of generational, cultural and political changes, GEDI and ESG have become common features of discussion in the investment world. This panel will focus on the role lawyers, both in-house and outside counsel, play in helping organizations further their GEDI and ESG agendas.

Also new this year is the in-depth analysis of advanced issues in conflicts of interest and conflict resolution. As the private funds market moved from "monoline products" firms to "supermarket firms," conflict navigation has become more complicated and nuanced. This session will cover recent developments and best practices in preventing and resolving any potential conflicts of interest.
