Overview

Why You Should Attend
Charitable fundraising and philanthropy have undergone seismic shifts in the last few years. Nonprofits are increasingly turning to innovative methods of bringing in revenue to support their programs, from crowdfunding through online platforms to accepting gifts of cryptocurrency. Spurred on by the pandemic and the racial reckoning of 2020, philanthropists have been exploring new ways of shifting power, partnering with grantees and deploying their funds, engaging in trust-based philanthropic practices, diversifying their boards and utilizing impact investing alongside their grantmaking.

Each of these new practices has its own regulatory backdrop to consider. Please join us for an exciting morning seminar as expert lawyers, professionals, and nonprofit leaders, discuss these current developments in philanthropy and charitable fundraising through three lenses – legal, tax, and investment.

• Identify the major shifts in philanthropic and fundraising practices taking place today
• Differentiate between a program-related investment and a mission-related investment and understand other key impact investing terminology
