Overview

Why You Should Attend:

IP Discussions with Joshua Simmons is a series of conversations hosted by nationally recognized intellectual property litigator, Joshua Simmons. Each month, Josh is joined by a panel of IP luminaries, leading scholars, and industry insiders. Together, they examine major topics and events in a civil, roundtable format.

Intellectual property often is used with permission of the IP owner or the law. When there are disputes between the owner and a user, they often are resolved outside of court. There, however, are disputes that cannot be resolved by the parties alone, which requires the involvement of federal judges and administrative officers.

What You Will Learn:

This roundtable will consider:
• What are the perspectives of some members of the federal judiciary on intellectual property disputes?
• How can parties to IP disputes better present their arguments?
• What alternative fora are there for resolving IP disputes?

Who Should Attend:

IP lawyers and practitioners with cases in the federal courts or proceedings in the Copyright Claims Board should find this program to be informative.
