Overview

Environmental social and governance (ESG) has gained enormous momentum in recent years as stakeholders, led by institutional investors, have come to demand ESG performance and risk management. The momentum has been complicated in the past year with a challenging macroeconomic and operating environment; and at the same time, the political landscape has shifted and there has been a rise of anti-ESG sentiment.

This program will address the following questions:

  • Given the heightened disclosure scrutiny, what does the current regulatory climate look like and what does it portend for the future? (12 minutes)
  • How are companies seeking to prioritize traditional near-term economic markers of performance? (12 minutes)
  • How much of the vocal push-back against ESG will really change corporate efforts? (12 minutes)
  • How can ESG teams, and especially in-house legal departments, help companies make sense of the noise around ESG and help their companies continue to meet stakeholder demands while furthering business operational priorities? (12 minutes)
  • How can management teams, boards of directors as well as operations teams understand the company’s purpose, strategy? How can they strike the right balance with stakeholder demands, which are often at odds with one another? (12 minutes)
