Overview

An understanding of basic nonprofit accounting principles, financial statements and best practices is critical for anyone who either represents a nonprofit organization or has financial/management responsibilities within one.  By participating in “Basic Accounting for Nonprofit Organizations” you will learn about fundamental accounting concepts that lawyers who represent nonprofit organizations and nonprofit managers and board members must understand to ensure compliance, transparency, and best practices.

  • Understand and apply basic accounting concepts for nonprofit organizations
  • Identify the “red flags” that Board members and nonprofit officers and managers need to watch for
  • Recognize the situations when you need to call outside help
