Overview

This program offers 4.5 New York State Social Work-CE credits for Licensed Master Social Workers (LMSWs) and Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs).  Please email a request to PLICredits@pli.edu or leave a comment in your evaluation if you would like Social Work CE for this program.  

Why You Should Attend

This program will provide an overview of immigration relief that may be available to children, victims of crime and trafficking, and individuals eligible for asylum. The program will also address cancellation of removal and related relief. Experienced faculty will discuss substantive and procedural issues as well as new developments in relevant case law and processes. 

What You Will Learn

After completing this program, participants will be able to:

  • Understand asylum basics
  • Recognize key fundamentals of Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) 
  • Identify immigration relief for victims of crime or abuse 
  • Understand the role of cancellation of removal and related relief

The program will benefit attorneys who represent, or who are seeking to represent, these vulnerable populations.

Intended Audience: Attorneys and related professionals who represent, or who are seeking to represent, vulnerable populations seeking immigration relief.
