Answers

Q: Who can use My Credit Tracker?

A: Anyone with a PLI account! Just create a PLI account and add licenses to your account in order to track your credits toward your CLE requirements. (Our customers with other licenses can also view the total credits they have earned.)

In addition, PLI’s Privileged Members can use the Credit Tracker Admin features to track requirements for all their roster members.

Q: Can I view my previous or upcoming compliance progress?

A: Yes, please click on either the “previous” or “next” buttons in your credit tracker to view those compliance periods.

Q: Can I use My Credit Tracker for multiple jurisdictions?

A: Yes, all the jurisdictions on your account will appear in My Credit Tracker, each in a separate section.

Q: How do my credits and certificates get submitted to My Credit Tracker?

A: Any credits you’ve earned from PLI will appear in My Credit Tracker shortly after you receive the certificate email from PLI. If you have not received a certificate in your email yet, review instructions below for how to request for credit.
For credits earned from a provider other than PLI, you can add your credits (and attach a certificate pdf or image) by using the external or carryover credits modal.

Q: How do I know what credits I’m missing?

A: Any credit that appears in a fraction is required. You are missing credit until the fraction is fulfilled. Click on the name of the credit type to go to PLI’s Find a Program feature and see approved products for that jurisdiction and credit type.

Q: How do I get more credit to fulfill my requirements?

A: Any credit that appears in a fraction is required. You are missing credit until the fraction is fulfilled. Click on the name of the credit type to go to PLI’s Find a Program feature and see approved products in that jurisdiction and credit type.

Q: How do I get started?

A: Just create a PLI account and add licenses to your account in order to track your credits toward your CLE requirements. (Our customers with other licenses can also view the total credits earned.) Some licenses may require you to enter your date of birth, compliance group or date range.

Q: How do I add external certificates?

A: Click on the add external or carryover credits button. In the modal that appears, add the name of the program, provider, date completed, format and credit types. Add a certificate PDF or image if you’d like, then save and close.

Q: How do I add carryover credit?

A: Click on the add external or carryover credits button. In the modal that appears, first select carryover at the top, then add the name of the program, provider, compliance period you want to carry over the credit to, format and credit types. Then save and close.

Q: Can I carry over my PLI credits?

A: Yes, you can do so manually for now. First identify how many credits and what credit types you are allowed to carry over. Then click on the add external or carryover credits button. In the modal that appears, first select carryover at the top, then add the name of the program, provider, compliance period you want to carryover the credit to, format and credit types. Then save and close.

Q: How do I request credit for a PLI program?

A: To request credit for an online program, click the "Request Credit" link on the upper right-hand corner of the video screen after completing the entire program or as much of the program as desired. It is strongly recommended you view the entire program, or as much of the program as desired, before requesting for credit. Viewing a program in different sittings over the course of days will not affect your ability to request for full credit at the completion of a program. The time you track will remain stored in our database indefinitely. Submitting one request after completing the entire program, or as much of the program as desired, will result in the issuance of a single certificate, maximizes the number of credits you will receive, and avoids reporting issues.

For a live in-person program, your certificate should arrive within one business day for an onsite program, and within one week for an offsite program. If you have not received a certificate by then, please email info@pli.edu for help.

Q: Can I see all my certificates for all jurisdictions at once?

A: Click on “View All My Certificates” from the top right-hand corner of the credit tracker or from your account menu to access a list of certificates for all jurisdictions sorted in reverse chronological order.

Q: Why are my New York compliance dates 30 days from my birthday?

A: The dates for New York Experienced attorneys include a 30-day grace period. As per Section 118.1, a New York attorney must register each alternate year within 30 days after their birthday. In order to ensure your compliance is calculated accurately, you should adjust the start date of your compliance period to the day after you submitted your last attorney registration, and adjust the end date to the date you will submit your upcoming registration (within 30 days after your birthday).

Q: Can I adjust the compliance period start and end dates that PLI has calculated for me?

A: Yes, if you’d like to change the dates that PLI has calculated for you, please click the edit button to manually adjust the end date, save, and close.
