CLPD Requirements: The Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department's CLPD Affairs Committee requires Legal Consultants registered on the Department’s roll in the category of Practising Legal Consultants to complete 16 CLPD points by December 31 of each year. Of the 16 points, at least 8 points (Mandatory points) must be completed via Mandatory CLPD Activities. To earn Mandatory points, Legal Consultants must attend four (4) two-hour training courses set by the Department. The other 8 points (Accredited points) must be completed via the Department’s list of Accredited CLPD Activities, insofar as one Accredited activity is no more than 4 points. A maximum of 2 Accredited points may be carried over to the subsequent filing period.
Any Legal Consultant registered with the Dispute Resolution Authority of the DIFC is required to complete 2 additional Mandatory points, thus modifying their CLPD requirement to 10 Mandatory points and 6 Accredited points.
