Vivien B. Shelanski, Esq. is a mediator and arbitrator at JAMS, where she has resolved hundreds of complex business and employment matters, including family disputes with highly fraught interpersonal dynamics. Before joining JAMS in 1998, she served as Assistant Circuit Executive at the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and was a litigator at two prominent New York law firms. She has taught at New York University School of Law and served as a Law Clerk to the Hon. Milton Pollack, a United States District Judge in the Southern District of New York. In addition to serving on the JAMs Board of Directors, she is an elected fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers and the College of Commercial Arbitrators, and was a co-editor of the 3rd Edition of the College of Commercial Arbitrators Guide to Best Practices in Commercial Arbitration.
She received an AB from Bryn Mawr College, a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Chicago, and the JD from New York University School of Law.
