Biography

Sara Cable is the Chief of the Data Privacy and Security Division and an Assistant Attorney General for the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office. Sara leads the Office’s cybersecurity and consumer privacy protection efforts, overseeing investigation and enforcement matters under the Massachusetts consumer protection and data protection laws. Under her direction, Sara’s team has conducted hundreds of investigations into cybersecurity and consumer data privacy incidents involving all sectors of the economy. Prior to her current role, Sara was an Assistant Attorney General with the Consumer Protection Division of the Massachusetts where she investigated and prosecuted violations of the Massachusetts Consumer Protection Act. Before her appointment as Assistant Attorney General in 2011, Ms. Cable was a litigation associate at Bingham McCutchen LLP, where she litigated commercial disputes featuring unfair trade practice, antitrust, and intellectual property claims. She received a Bachelor of Arts magna cum laude from Harvard University and a Juris Doctorate magna cum laude from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.
