Bert Fox is the National Managing Partner of the Professional Standards Group at Grant Thornton LLP. In addition, Bert is the partner-in-charge of Professional Practice Group for the firm. In this role, Fox deals with all professional standards, auditing and risk management issues pertaining to clients throughout the firm. He also consults with businesses throughout the country on complex accounting matters including business combinations, revenue recognition, share and non-share based payments and long-lived assets.
From September 2007 to June 2009, Fox was a Professional Accounting Fellow in the Office of the Chief Accountant at the SEC. He was responsible for following the activities of various professional accounting standard setting bodies both within the US and globally, consulting with registrants on accounting and reporting matters, and participating in the development of the SEC’s and other standard setting bodies’ rule proposals.
