Naseem Nixon serves as a senior counsel in the Office of the Director in the Division of Investment Management. As senior counsel to the Director, Naseem assists with all aspects of the Division’s regulatory oversight of the asset management industry. 

Prior to her role in the Office of the Director, Naseem served in a number of capacities throughout the Division. Naseem served as a senior counsel in the Division’s Rulemaking Office where she worked on various rulemaking initiatives, including investment company reporting modernization and liquidity risk management reforms. She also served as a senior counsel in the Division’s Disclosure Review and Accounting Office where she reviewed and provided comment on numerous prospectuses, proxy statements, and other disclosure documents filed by mutual funds and variable insurance products issuers. 

Prior to joining the Commission, Naseem was an associate at the law firm of Eversheds Sutherland (US) LLP (formerly, Sutherland Asbill and Brennan LLP) in the firm’s financial services practice group.

Naseem earned her J.D. from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University and her undergraduate degree in public policy studies from Duke University.
