Biography
Meena Sharma is Director (Acting) of the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Investment Security Policy and International Relations. In her current role, Meena leads the office responsible for policy development, implementation and modification to regulations, engagement with foreign partners and allies, and broader stakeholder outreach related to the operations and activities of the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) as well as work and coordination on implementation of other national security programs including Executive Order 14105 of August 9, 2023.
Prior to joining Treasury, Meena practiced at Covington & Burling LLP, where she specialized in cross-border trade, investment and national security matters. This included advising clients on the national security reviews conducted by CFIUS as well as various export controls and economic sanctions compliance matters.
Meena received her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where she was managing editor of the Law Review. She received her B.A. from Tufts University, where she graduated magna cum laude.
