Leah Guggenheimer is a Chief Process & Innovation Officer of Burford and supports its ongoing evolution from start-up to leading global provider of finance and professional services to the legal industry, with a particular focus on organizational strategy, process and evolving marketplace opportunities.
With a background as a litigator, marketing director, practice group leader, and business process/change management executive at several law firms, as well as a business consultant and advisor to leading hedge funds, Ms. Guggenheimer is uniquely suited for the role.
Prior to joining Burford, Ms. Guggenheimer was Chief Operating Officer of Tiger Bay Advisors, a boutique consulting firm for alternative investment managers. While at Tiger Bay Advisors, she created the Tiger in the Machine newsletter which discussed process issues in the hedge fund industry. Before joining Tiger Bay’s executive leadership, she was a Chief of Staff at leading hedge fund Bridgewater Associates. She began her career as a practicing litigator at firms including Bernstein Litowitz Berger & Grossmann, and subsequently transitioned to marketing, business development and process design roles at firms including Jackson Lewis, Darby & Darby and Dechert.
Ms. Guggenheimer graduated magna cum laude from Brown University and cum laude from Harvard Law School. She also is a graduate of Boston University’s program in Business Process Management.
