Brent is currently a Chief Trial Attorney with the Division of Enforcement at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission in the New York office. Brent supervises a team of trial attorneys and investigators and represents the Division in enforcement actions that are filed in the United States District Court. He has successfully prosecuted and negotiated settlements relating to a wide variety of actions, including matters sounding in manipulation, fraud, and trade practices. Brent regularly represents the Commission in actions and investigations related to cryptocurrencies and is the coordinator of the Division of Enforcement’s Virtual Currency Task Force. He also serves as the Division liaison for LabCFTC, a central component of the Commission’s fintech initiatives. Brent is a graduate of Washington & Lee University School of Law.
