Jeffrey Colt is the supervising attorney at Covenant House New York, one of the nation’s largest, privately funded, non-profit adolescent care agencies serving homeless, runaway and trafficked youth. Covenant House New York’s Legal Department provides services for a wide array of legal issues affecting young people, including immigration, custody/visitation, child support, domestic violence/orders of protection, broken adoptions, consumer and employment issues, and public benefits. Prior to joining Covenant House, Jeff was a staff attorney at The Children’s Law Center and represented children up to age 21 in Kings and Bronx County in matters of custody/visitation/guardianship, orders of protection, paternity and SIJS. Jeff received his Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law and is a Fordham Law adjunct professor who has coached student advocates at the Brendan Moore Trial Advocacy Center.
