Jake McDonald is the Client Services Counsel at the Medicare Rights Center, a national, nonprofit consumer service organization that works to ensure access to affordable health care for older adults and people with disabilities through counseling and advocacy, educational programs and public policy initiatives. Jake provides free services to Medicare beneficiaries, caregivers, and professionals, including representation for appeals and enrollment problems, individual counseling, and education. He also provides casework assistance to New Yorkers who receive Medicaid long term care services. In addition, Jake supports Medicare Rights’ educational outreach efforts and policy initiatives federally and in New York. Jake hails from Wisconsin, but holds a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame and a J.D. from New York University School of Law. He is admitted to practice in New York. Previously, he was a public school teacher in New Orleans.
