Tucker McCrady is the EVP & General Counsel at the Orchard. In this role, he manages the Orchard’s legal and business affairs team, with global oversight of the company’s digital licensing negotiations, label distribution contracts, acquisitions and all other related legal activities.
Formerly, Tucker was a shareholder at Greenberg Traurig, where he worked on the legal team representing Soundcloud, a platform with more than 100 million active users globally, and played a leading role in negotiating licenses for a wide range of digital music providers. Prior to Greenberg Traurig, LLP, he worked at Warner Music Group for six and a half years, where he negotiated digital licenses with dozens of internet music services, and ultimately managed litigation for the company worldwide. He also served for five years on the Board of Directors of SoundExchange.
Tucker grew up in Tennessee, studying philosophy at Harvard and acting at Juilliard. He spent several years acting professionally, on Broadway and in theatres around the country, before returning to Columbia Law School, where he was a Kent Scholar and the recipient of awards in advocacy and intellectual property.
