Biography

Marie is a Partner on the Leasing and Presentation team in EY’s Americas Professional Practice department in New York where she focuses primarily on helping engagement teams and clients with complex technical accounting matters related to the implementation of the new leases standard and current GAAP. She serves as the partner liaison for consumer products and retail industry matters.

Prior to her current role, Marie specialized in revenue recognition matters helping engagement teams and clients with complex technical accounting matters related to implementation of the new revenue recognition standard.

Marie spent two years as a Professional Accounting Fellow at the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) where she focused on issues related to consolidation and nonfinancial assets.

Before joining the FASB, Marie spent five years in EY’s Americas Professional Practice department in New York focusing primarily on consolidation.

Marie began her career as an auditor in EY’s Dallas office where she spent nine years providing assurance services to SEC registrants with domestic and international operations and private companies, primarily within the transportation and consumer products and retail industries. During that time, she worked on a broad range of technical accounting issues, including revenue recognition, asset impairment, frequent flyer accounting, pensions, stock compensation, leases, emission trading schemes and registration statements. Past clients include American Airlines, Palm Harbor Homes, Dallas Mavericks and Pilgrim’s Pride.

Marie received a Master’s degree and Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Oklahoma.  She is a Certified Public Accountant in New York and Texas and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.  She enjoys running, traveling and volunteering.
