Jeff is a proven leader with over 21 years of experience in the area of accounting, finance, and understanding the characteristics and operating features of many types of publicly-held companies. He is a high energy and versatile team leader, comfortable in fast paced, rapid growth, complex, and sophisticated corporate environments. He combines strong work ethic, excellent organizational and communication skills, and leadership by example approach to develop people and achieve results.

Jeff joined BDO in 2017 and is a national office clearing authority on complex SEC accounting and reporting issues. He has distinguished himself as a national office leader and subject matter expert by (1) advising firm leadership on SEC regulatory issues, (2) assisting clients with interpretations of authoritative accounting and reporting literature, and the application of such guidance to specific scenarios or fact patterns, (3) acting as an advisor during his clients’ SEC comment letter process, (4) building eminence and enhancing his firm’s brand, (5) being a frequent speaker on current and emerging SEC accounting and reporting issues, and (6) contributing to firm publications on SEC accounting and reporting topics. Additionally, as a senior member of national office he has implemented new ideas and processes, which has streamlined his department’s ability to interact with clients, promote knowledge sharing and work more productively.

Jeff is also well versed in the following areas (1) Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), (2) M&A transactions, (3) Spin / Carve-out transactions, (4) debt /equity  offerings, and (5) best practices for working with the SEC staff. He has represented numerous clients in front of the SEC and has well-established relationships with the SEC staff. 

Prior to joining BDO’s national office, Jeff spent five years in Deloitte’s national office where he was also a national office clearing authority on complex SEC accounting and reporting issues and was a distinguished national office leader and subject matter expert, regularly working with IPO, high emerging growth and Fortune 1000 clients.

Jeff also worked for eight years with the SEC in the Division of Corporation Finance, where he was an Accounting Branch Chief.  In that role, he functioned as an SEC accounting and reporting expert and supervised the professionals in his Branch.  Also, he regularly met and corresponded with top executives, legal, and financial professionals. Furthermore, he provided guidance and recommendations to SEC registrants in being compliant with applicable GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.  Prior to joining the SEC, he worked for Deloitte & Touche LLP as a Manager where he served major clients that were SEC registrants.
